Loosened the timing belt tonite. Was fairly tight..Reassembly was halted due to me painting a couple things to bling up the engine bay a bit..
Also Slade, you wont believe how close you were to fixing the electrical problem..Was the harness going from the CAS to the engine loom. Its playing up a little when cold but only just recently so im gonna have to look into it again.Hopefully on the weekend ill be able to chuck it on the dyno and see what happens Very Happy

Righto, output is 174rwkw at 9psi.Thats 2 psi lower than the other Z.Still has plenty of headroom, reason that we didnt wind the wick up is because it spikes pretty bad to 13psi and runs a bit lean down low.So gonna get another wastegate actuator and a fuel pressure reg and the dyno man reckons we could get around 220 at the wheels.

I can't believe that was all it was. I saw the ECU doing some funny things too so I thought it must be a power supply problem. I think I even tried to get a new CAS harness from Nissan but I can't remember what happened. I never got a CAS code either. Errr, how much will you sell the car back for now?

174rwkw is pretty good. What exhaust have you got on it now? This is with the stock turbo right? I would be really interested to know how much power this car was making when the idiot owner before me put the bleed valve on the wrong way (the waste gate wasn't opening at all . . . . 22psi?). I'm glad I corrected that. it was fun and all but I don't know what strange law of science was stopping detonation. Its insane really, stock fuel supply leans out at 12psi, and there was no intercooler!

As for surviving in Tasmania, take your car next time! The roads there are awesome to have some fun on, and great scenery. A guy I work with had Simmons Plains for the whole day last Friday. Drove his twin turbo Z32 until there was no break pads left. Apparently, it cost about $120 for the whole day, but I don't know if that was mates rates or what.

Ha,thats freakin mad bout simmons..Yeh,after doing Targa i saw alot of real good roads and scenery around Tassie.Ill have go on a bit of a trip one day with my mates..Sorry man, still got a bit i wanna do before i sell it..lol.Stock turbo is still on there, its not really struggling so ill leave it till i get bigger injectors, fuel pump, fpr and a nistune on there.Exhaust is still the same but with a straight through muffler on the back.Thinking the gearbox needs to be looked at soon, makes some concerning noises when its cold.
But yeh,it is really wierd that it didnt detonate with no wastegate action,lol..Im looking at a few autometer gauges at the moment, oil temp and pressure in the middle and boost on the a-pillar.The stock one is innacurate as hell so that can go to the tip :p
