Temp sensor.

I've been told (and seen photos) of two different temp sensors under the intake manifold, which one is for the water temp gauge, and is anything else plugged into it?

I'm assuming the other one is for the thermo fans (since american ones just have a bolt with no wire coming off it), am i correct?

I believe it is the smaller one of the 2, i can't remember what side it is on. The larger one is a temp operated switch that turns on and off at 100c if i remember correctly. I think it is only the temp gauge that runs off the smaller one.

i think i used pointy nosed pliers and a lot of swearing, it's a bit of a pain to get out. I now have a after market temp gauge and i had the sender unit installed in the radiator, it is a lot easier to get to

so r u installing an after market sender unit? you might want to check the thread when installing it, i could only put my new sender in about 2 turns, the hole in the manifold is tapered so your normal sender won't screw in all the way and i wasn't comfortable having it being held in by 2 lines of thread.
if you want to keep the stock wiring maybe you could follow the wire up to the firewall then join a new wire to it there and run it to the radiator or anywhere else you want to put the sender

not a bad idea at all.

Is there a bung to put a sender in in the radiator or did you have to create one?

i had a radiator shop put one in for me, i had the temp unit put in the top of the radiator and a temp operated switch put in the bottom and it cost me about $70 including the switch (i already had the sender unit for the gauge)
