Here's my (first) car, a non-turbo '85.

Current mods: 2.5" catless dump-pipe-back exhaust, stereo, steering wheel.

Planned mods: Turbo conversion, new rims, 5 stud conversion, fix sterio.

Anyway, onto the images:

Old and busted.

New hotness.

The blue matches way better in person. (but still not a perfect match)
Indicators don't self cancel anymore, but i don't care.

Got some driving lights due to lack of visibility at night. The stock headlights were aimed so that if i was doing 25kph in pitch black, saw an object, and hit the brakes as hard as i could without locking wheels, i'd still hit the thing. Aimed them back up, wasn't impressed.

Mounted driving lights, mounted the switch, ran a wire from the switch to the front right driving light, (not connected yet) Just need to run a wire from battery to switch, then earth the lights and its done.

In true zed style, to access the grommet on the passenger side that the amplifier's +wire goes through, i need to remove the battery and battery tray. I've already ripped out the windscreen washer bottle (motors are shagged anyway, its not going back in anytime soon) Just to be able to reach down to pull the wire through the grommet in the passenger side of the firewall.
And, i've misplaced my spanners (they were stolen), so i cant get the battery terminals off to do that.

It took me 2 hours to find a path from the engine bay to under the front bumper.
And i had to remove the cruise control actuator to get through the drivers side grommet (i got pissed off and just stabbed a hole in it with a pen i'd taped the wire to). Although i did find out why cruise control wasn't working, button presser thing for the clutch isn't there, so cc thinks the clutch pedal is depressed all the time.

I'm enjoying this pain in the ass work, i like a challenge.

It was the only switch they had, not something you'd expect lights to be hooked onto :Smile

Does anyone know where the hold up relay for the headlight motors is on an aussie z31?

on mine, either the uphold or the headlight relay is behind teh cruise control actuator, not sure which one it is, next to the EFI relay (green one, turns ECU on i think)
the other one, i've got no idea where it is lol.

they're in really stupid locations

got new dashboard in mail few days ago, courtesy of sean (s2k12)
didnt fit right, was bent in shipping, had to mash it with a brick to get it to fit.

and i now have no speedo, and the gauges are stupidly inaccurate (12-13 volts when cars is off, tacho has 2 second delay, no speedo cause cant plug cable back in, etc)

considering doing custom gauge setup, where's best place in wa to get autometer gauges?

yeah, the brick thing worked anyway, and i don't wanna screw around by yelling @ freight company since it wont achieve anything.

eitherway, its in now and all gauges read pretty much correct (they were just old and needed to loosen up, kinda stretch their legs), except water temp, which reads nothing (bought replacement, yet to install due to lack of tools), and speedo, which needs to be plugged in
